Falling Colors is looking for a Test Automation Engineer

We design and build custom software solutions. Many of our clients are in the public/non-profit sector, with focuses like behavioral and mental health, child welfare, and community outreach.

 

Our Test Automation Engineer will support the Development and QA Teams in designing and maintaining an automated test repository. The role will assume ownership of the test automation process – from test design to CI/CD pipeline integration. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in end-to-end automation.

Falling Colors

We are located in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with offices in Denver, Philadelphia, and New York.

 

This position is open to candidates in Santa Fe and Denver.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement end to end automated test plans
• Design and implement load and performance automated test plans
• Assess current state of automation testing to include recommended strategic changes
• Provide technical guidance regarding automation testing frameworks and best practices
• Convert existing manual test practices into automated test suites
• Integrate automated tests into a CI/CD pipeline
• Responsible for all aspects of test development to include creation and management of test data
• Develop comprehensive testing strategy from functional specifications
• Write clear and concise reproduction steps when software defects are found
• Escalate critical issues to QA Lead or other appropriate parties
• Communicate daily with multiple teams regarding issues, obstacles, and goals

The Must Haves

• 2 years of experience designing and implementing in software testing
• Experience with automated software testing tools
• Experience developing software test cases, automation scripts, and test data
• Experience with ad-hoc manual software testing
• Knowledge of software test methodologies and best practices
• Adaptability: we are a small company and need people who can step up to solve a variety of problems
• Kindness: we work closely with each other, and are building a team that is supportive and fun to work with

The Good to Haves

• Experience and familiarity with a .NET/C# testing framework (NUnit, xUnit.NET, MSTest/Visual Studio Test)
• Experience and familiarity with a JavaScript or Typescript testing framework (Mocha, Jasmine, Jest, Cypress)
• Multiple years of experience with automated testing
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps Pipelines, Jenkins)
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum SDLC
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Knowledge of system performance testing or benchmarking tools
• B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent work/educational experience

The Bonus Stuff

• Experience with healthcare systems, especially behavioral health
• Experience with financial management systems
